Project Permitting
Hecate Energy has obtained the Special Use Permit (SUP) for the full project, but other permits are required pending studies that are underway. Those permits include:
- Lee Township Zoning Permit
- Lee Township building, electrical and/or mechanical permits
- Calhoun County Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Permit
- Michigan Department of Agricultural and Rural Development
- Michigan state-level Construction Stormwater Permit
- Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) Stormwater Program, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Construction
- EGLE State and Federal Wetland for Part 303 and Section 404 of Clean Water Act
- Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) for Farmland Development Rights Program
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for informal consultation on threatened or endangered species
- Michigan State Historic Preservation Office (MI SHPO) consultation for cultural resources
